ELAINE LEMIEUX

What a great feeling of freedom and creativity one has when hearing one's own singing voice in a vibrant room!  For as long as she can remember, Elaine Lemieux has always been fascinated by the sonic colors of the human voice, its possibilities for creative expression and the diversity of emotions that can be revealed.

Elaine received a Master’s degree and a Post-Master’s degrees in Music Interpretation in Voice from the University of Montreal, Canada.  She has more than 30 years of experience in voice study, training, and singing performance. Elaine has acquired experience as a recitalist, cantor, chorister, performer, voice teacher and music facilitator.  She also had the opportunity to solo with different chamber music ensembles, choirs, theatrical groups and dance companies.  She performed classical, baroque, sacred and contemporary repertory in Canada, the United States, as well as in Europe.

Elaine has always been inspired by the theatrical improvisation styles created by many performance artists that she had the privilege of working with over the years. In addition, she has completed five years of training in the Musicianship and Leadership Program (MLP) from the Music for People organization.  As a result, she has truly enhanced her leadership and creative musical language and has found her doorway in helping people find their authentic expressive selves.  Elaine focuses on voice and channeling self-expression and movement.  She brings a new sensitivity to music improvisation founded in an education in formal classical voice.  Her training has helped her communicate effectively in the universal language of music.

MURIEL REYMOND

Born in France, Muriel was introduced to music at an early age. She was trained as a classical singer, learned how to play violin, viola as well as recorder. Music is for her a language that touches everybody without the need of words: a universal way of connectedness.

Member of a choir, she solos on different occasions as soprano in baroque and classic repertoire. She also becomes a student in medieval music at the IMSL ( Institut de Musique sacrée de Lyon). She explores both sacred chant (Gregorian) and secular music of the same period. She becomes a occasional member of Ensemble Xérémia, spreading this music among children in school or traveling to Slovenia for a medieval festival. She expands her skills with Brigitte Lesne at the Centre de Musique Médiévale de Paris and with Soeur Marie Keyrouz, at the Institut International de Chant Sacré.

Years later Muriel moves to Japan where she is taught some traditional songs. Part of a Taiko ensemble, she discovers the way of the traditional Japanese drum. Back in France, she joins the Soul Voice ® Practitioners' Certification Program with Soul Voice International. This life-transforming training helps her reconnect with the creativity and spontaneity of the inner child, emotional expression, and authentic communication on one hand, and on the other hand to enter the therapeutic world of sounds and vibrations. She is now a certified Soul Voice  ® practitioner.

In 2012, she meets Elaine Lemieux while improvising vocally during a Gong Bath. They decide to meet regularly and to step into the unknown with their voices and instruments. They co-create Spiral Resonance in 2014.
